Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if we’re a good fit?
The easiest way to find out is to schedule a consultation call with me. I offer free 15-minute consultation calls for us to get to know each other, determine if it would make sense to work together, and for you to get a sense of what being in session with me would be like. Reach out via email, text, or any contact form on this website to get started.
What does “evidence-based practice” mean?
This means using therapeutic approaches that are supported by scientific research combined with my clinical expertise and your individual preferences and goals. Treatment decisions are guided by what studies show is effective, while still tailoring the work to your specific needs.
Examples:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Effective for depression and anxiety by identifying and changing unhelpful thought and behavior patterns.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Builds psychological flexibility by helping clients relate differently to difficult thoughts and emotions while moving toward identified values.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Teaches skills in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Exposure-based treatments: Supported for anxiety disorders by gradually reducing avoidance and fear responses.
Behavioral strategies for ADHD: Structured routines, reinforcement systems, and executive functioning skills training.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): Research-supported approach for improving connection and communication in couples.
Mindfulness-based interventions: Shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and prevent relapse of depression.
Where are you located?
I live in the Bay Area of California, but I provide services via telehealth across the state of California.
How much do sessions cost?
My practice uses standard, transparent pricing consistent with regional norms and professional guidelines. Rates reflect the level of training, specialized care, and time dedicated to each session, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based treatment. You can see specific rates HERE or contact me to inquire directly.
Do you accept insurance?
I am not in network with insurance carriers, but I will happily provide a super bill for out-of-network reimbursement. Additionally, I reserve a few slots using a sliding scale fee for patients with limited resources. Please contact me directly to inquire about these slots.
How long are sessions?
Individual and couples therapy sessions are 50 minutes and we typically meet every week. We will meet less often as we near the end of our work together.
